18 MayBurn It Like Beckham: The Olympic Torch

David Beckham was in Greece yesterday to pick up the Olympic flame to start its 8,000 mile tour across Britain.

The LA Galaxy midfielder was joined by British Royal, Princess Anne at the torch handover ceremony and will carry back the flame on a special golden plane Friday to the U.K.

A total of 8,000 people will carry the torch during its 70 day journey to the London Olympics. The opening ceremony will take place on July 27th, which takes place nearby Beckhams childhood home.

The soccer icon hopes to play for Britain in the Olympic games and is said to be on coach Stuart Pearce’s 80 man short list, which must be cut to 18 players for Britain’s first Olympic soccer team since 1960.

I thought Canadians were supposed to be nice?

David Beckham was left red faced when fans at the Olympic Stadium in Canada began singing his wife’s songs.

The soccer hottie was doing a interview with ESPN, when the crowd spontaneously broke into song which left him cringing.

Although he seemed less than impressed with the crowd’s vocal performance, David continued on with his interview!

During the game David wowed a record crowd in Canada with a trademark free kick to earn MLS champions Los Angeles Galaxy a vital point.

09 MayLA Galaxy Coach Bruce Arena Backs David Beckham To Make GB Squad

Former America national team coach Bruce Arena is urging Stuart Pearce to sign up Superstar David Beckham for the Team GB Olympic squad.

Arena told The Daily Mirror of Englands former captain, “David is determined to make the Olympic squad. Its very important to him. Hes passionate about it and is working hard towards it. Im sure he can make it. He went on to say the 37 year old, like the rest of the team, needs things to go his way so he can get back towards being at the top of his game.”

David is currently enjoying his new season with his team, the LA Galaxy.

It’s been a crazy week for Spanish team Real Madrid, after locking in their La Liga Champions title.

David Beckham, who once played for the team revealed his excitement in Los Angeles to Hollyscoop.com, as his team LA Galaxy took on the New York Bulls 1-0.

“Great! Of course, being a Real Madrid fan and a player for four years, it was amazing to see, because Barcelona is one of the best teams in the world and it was always going to be tough. But I’m so happy for Jose Mourinho and the players that I’ve played with there, and the players that I respect as well. It’s great for Real Madrid fans and it’s been three since they had the title and it was great to see!”

In regards to any advice he could share with the star player Cristiano Ronaldo, he said “No!” “I think he’s such a great talent, such a great player and a good person. He’s one of the best, if not THE best player in the world. So watching him is a huge pleasure for many Real Madrid fans.”

When David decides to retire from playing, it would be great to see him join his old teammate Zinedine Zidane as a director for Real Madrid.

Recently David told Hollyscoop’s Diana Madison, that coaching could be a possibility in the future. “You never know, I’ll always be part of the club some way, I have a great relationship with Florentino. Who knows what happens in the future.”

In the meantime, David will prepare to take on his old team Real Madrid in Los Angeles at the L.A. Home Depot center on August 2, 2012.

They have been married for over 13 years and they still look like they got a lot of love for each other.

The couple both cracked up when the famous KissCam locked on to them in the audience while at the Lakers game.

Vicki B and David were happy to oblige as they puckered up for a smooch before pulling apart and giggling shyly.

Victoria Beckham recently forgot her 13 year old son Brooklyn when leaving her home to take him to school. She confessed, “I jumped in my Range Rover, put the car seat in, put my iPod on and drove to school. And then I realized Id left Brooklyn in the kitchen. I was driving along, talking away, and all of a sudden, I looked down at the seat, and I was like, S…t.S…t, Ive forgot something.”
